Community Arts and Cultural Center

Project Info:

Date Completed: Spring 2022
Location: University of Louisville
Description: The Turkish Cultural Arts Center was completed in ART 561: Interior Design studio. The assigned building was originally an old firehouse in Chicago built in the 1940s. Over the semester, I repurposed it into a Cultural Arts Center. The adaptive reuse project was a blend of history, community, and creativity. In this project, I created exploratory sketches, construction documents, rendered elevations and perspectives, and chose my own finishes and selections. I organized everything in a programming document over the course of the semester.
